Improve surfing speed and save bandwidth

Most of the times, the internet users having no broad band facility spends a lot of time just waiting to get the page fully loaded on dial up, gprs, edge wireless modem or similar slow speed surfing solutions.

If you are using this small trick, It can save lots of time for you by disabling loading web graphics from the web pages. The advantage here is, you can load only the images from the original website or you can load only the graphics you would like to see.

By the way, this trick works only for Firefox and not for other browsers. To use it, start Firefox and go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1672 url. This url corresponds to a Firefox add on named ImgLikeOpera (i.e. Image like Opera) which is a clone of Opera browser facility.

Now, click on “AddtoFirefox” button on the page and install it to firefox (See the picture for reference).

Restart “Firefox” browser. And you will see a small indicator at the right side of Firefox status bar. Set the plugin to load only cached images only.(See picture bellow).

Now, for all sites you browse thru Firefox, it loads only cached images and for all other images, it displays an image place holder which do not disturb the original looks of web page. If any of the images are needs to be loaded just press the Ctrl key and click the right mouse button on that picture and ImgLikeOpera automatically loads only that image for you.

You can also save your bandwidth with this method, because all the un necessary bandwidth wastage is prevented by not loading the unwanted pictures.

Hope it helps you all.

Image like opera seems to be a great thing to use when you are on slow net connection. I used in on my net book, when I visit my village in India and get faster surfing experience. It seems tata whiz does give a software to speed up but never saw it happen. any way thanks for help.
